I will cherish this painting FOREVER!!
Who knew homemade Finger Paint was sooo easy to make?
Oh what FUN we had!
I found a site that had 3 easy recipes...HERE
I used the Cornstarch recipe.
Water {3C}, Cornstarch{1C} and Food ColoringIn a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Dissolve cornstarch in a separate bowl with water. Remove boiling water from heat and add cornstarch mixture. Return to heat, stirring constantly. Boil until the mixture is clear and thick (about 1 minute). Remove from heat.
As the mixture is cooling, divide into separate bowls and add food coloring.
Cook, seperate and color.
I used containers with lids for easy storage and future use. Then I later found these at the $1! Perfect for fingerpaint! We painted on washable mats for easy clean up.
He painted on a canvas......
He painted on Freezer Paper......
He painted himself......
Until he had the perfect masterpiece!
We didn't even make that big of a mess:-)
Ready for Daddy's office.
I added a photo and hung in the hubby's office!
Check out all the places I party!
Cute idea to add the photo!

ReplyDeleteSo cute! Thanks for the recipe! I have the one for sidewalk paint that is very similar!
ReplyDeleteI so love that kid Michell! One question, did the paint stain his skin because of the food coloring? I've heard that recipes with food coloring will do that. Also, I know I need to call you back. I'm a slacker. I'll remember tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteUm friken awesome right back at ya girl. What a cutie pie, and oh what a neat idea. Every Mother with little ones should see this right now. I so wish I would have. Love this finger paint for my toddler but thought I would add that after a week of no use, it did start to mold. Definitely a great recipe and, in our experience, best if used right after being made! Thanks for the recipe! Red Bank House Cleaning
