I am super excited to share with you a few projects I have done using Cutting Edge Stencils!!
Not ONLY do I get to show you how I used them but I ALSO get to GIVE a Stencil away to one lucky reader!!!! WOOT WOOT!!
Well first of all I was a little leary of using stencils.....it just seemed too complicated to me....but boy was I ever WRONG!
I had my first opportunity to use a Cutting Edge Stencil when my prize package for winning the DIY CLUB included one ....
I won the Kobe Allover Stencil
and used it in my bath
I was super impressed!
It was quick and easy and took me about 2 hrs to do this little section....
It came out so clean with very little touch up!
Their many video tutorials are very helpful!
Also in my prize package was a cute little Butterfly and Dragonfly Stencil
and I used them on my craft room floor
So I have done some wonderful projects using these Stencils!
Needless to say I LOVE Cutting Edge Stencils so when they ask if I would like to review and have a giveaway for my readers....I quickly said YES!!
I picked the Flower Power Stencil in size medium......
and here is how I used it:
I purchased 2 leather chairs on an upcycle site for $20 each......I googled how to paint on leather and came across a forum talking about painting on shoes and I used that technique....only because I had all the items on hand and I didn't want to have to go buy special leather paint...
First I prepped the chairs by wiping them down with some acetone and sanded them very lightly...this is so the paint sticks.
I wanted to add some color to my chairs and to tie in my giant clock....
I used Anita's All Purpose Acrylic in Hay & Nautical Blue and
mixed 2 parts paint to 1 part of Fabric Medium
The trick is to use very little paint and dab.
The Flower Power Stencil comes as a set of 2
so I overlapped and use the other color....
You can touch up areas with a q-tip but
I like the 'worn' look in areas with less paint......
After I finished painting {less than an hour} I applied a thin coat of Leather Conditioner to seal it...
See the wonderful transformation stencils can make?!?!?!?
I will be using these stencils in other areas of my home too!!
Check out The Casablanca Transformation she also used Cutting Edge Stencils on some chairs with awesome results!!
What I LOVE able Cutting Edge Stencils is that they are inexpensive, reusable, and have a very large selection!
The possibilities are endless........
OK! Now who wants to WIN one????
Cutting Edge Stencils is giving one reader a stencil
of their choice!!!
A $50 Value!
