What to do with Old Windows??
How about some GIANT house numbers??
OR
Some FAB kitchen art!
I picked up a few old windows at a yard sales last year and
they have been sitting in my garage…
I finally decided to use them in some home décor.
I used my Silhouette to cut out GIANT numbers and letters {12 x 24}
If you don’t have a Silhouette I’m sure you could print out letters and numbers on legal size paper, make a stencil
and then cut them out using contact paper.
Here is what I did:
I cleaned the front and back of my window.
Then I cut out my numbers.
I used a 12 x 10ft roll of black vinyl.
I’m still in the learning phase with my Silhouette and I’m not the best at getting my sizes even.
I originally wanted my numbers on the back of the window to protect the vinyl from the outdoor elements BUT I forgot to reverse my image……
so I’m gonna see how long they last on the front.
Next, I cut my numbers in half to fit on the upper and lower windows.
I used transfer paper to put my numbers on the glass.
The transfer paper picks up the image so you can easily transfer the sticky side to your surface.
(I have also found that Press and Seal works great to transfer vinyl)
Transfer all 8 pieces to the window….
Smooth with a credit card to get out any air bubbles…
A beautiful MESS!
My NEW Giant House Numbers.!
Check out my first set of Giant House Numbers HERE
Here is the BEFORE!
and the AFTER!
Well not really the after….I’m right in the middle of painting my house, adding rock to the corner and cedar to the peak.
That’s a whole other blog post
I LOVED this so much that I decided to use my other window for some Kitchen Art.
This window had 3 sections instead of 2 like the first window.
I cut out the letters with white and black vinyl.
I thought it looked nice leaving a gap at the edge of each window.
I'm also in the middle of a kitchen remodel.
This is gonna look so nice with my soon to be black and white checked floor!
Thank you so much for stopping by!!
