I LOVE chalkboard paint!!
I'm always looking for placing to paint it and I found just the perfect spot on the inside of my pantry door!
I also used some magnetic paint.....
BEFORE
3 coats of magnetic paint with a half of drying time between coats
2 coats of chalkboard paint
I added a border of green from my kitchen wall
Perfect!
The bottom half is just perfect for my son
This keeps the little one busy while I clean up the kitchen:-)
After!!
I have been meaning to try out chalkboard paint. I didn't even know about magnetic paint too:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. I have never had any luck with the magnetic paint. Its great to see that it worked for you. :-) Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the magnetic paint yet...I need to! Great idea to trim this chalkboard in green!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking this up over at Cottage Instincts...love your blog!
I love this! It looks awesome. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteYou will love this! I've had a chalkboard painted on my pantry door for about 4-5 years now and we use it constantly. My girl was just a toddler when we did it and now she's 9. We use it for homework, lists, etc. We are going to paint her closet doors with chalkboard paint pretty soon. I was thinking about adding the magnetic paint when we did her closet doors and I like how yours looks. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLooks great, I saw this in a magazine last year and filed it away in my mind. I'm in the process of doing a craft closet and thought a chalk board on the inside would be great. The magnic paint is a new spin to me...I like it. I'm visiting you by way of Met Monday, come visit me sometime.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to use chalkboard paint. What a great and practical idea!
ReplyDeleteI saw this at Cottage Instincts. This is a really neat idea. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI want to do this soooooooo bad! Such a cute idea for kids. Maybe I can talk my hubby into letting me do one door that way...

Looks great! I wish I had a pantry!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle! Your door looks fantasic, I didn't know that they made magnetic paint, very cool!Thank you for linking to Masterpiece Monday. Mary :O)
ReplyDeleteBlack board paint and magnetic paint are two of my favourite decorating materials. I didn't have a lot of luck with the magnetic paint at first but once I figured out that it has to be well shaken (ie at the paint store and used immediately after you get home) and use a few coats ... it's amazing. Love the door idea in the pantry ... I like that it is out of sight!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love that! I need to figure out a door to do that to in my house. Can you do me a BIG favor. Can you update the web address in my button? It's still going to my old blogspot. Thank you! (p.s. I'd LOVE a link in the post. :) You have to scroll WAY past any posting area to get far enough down to see my button and isn't it all about me? totally teasing)

That looks awesome. I found you on the Chalk Talk link party. I tried the magnetic paint (and followed directions closely b/c I was told you really have to) and it still has very little magnetism. The guy told me I really need to buy some specific kind of magnets. But it looks like your magnets are doing great! I love the combo.
ReplyDeleteI would also love for you to link this up to my Organizing Mission link party! My readers are loving the chalkboard items. I'm not on blogger, so you can find my link party at Organize with Sandy.com/blog and go to Organizing Mission Monday link party Week 18. (sorry.. I hate leaving links)
