Then I'll show you the How To
My son's name for his dresser.
I also did his date of birth.
Soul
Mind, Body and Soul.
Laugh!
Love
I Love You
Love, Laugh, Sing, Dance
Coins
Flowers
Beads
Dill
Eat, Pray, Love
Necklaces
Ok maybe...I went a 'little' stamp CRAZY!
I didn't even show you the bookmarks and gift tags
but I think you get the idea....
Now for the HOW TO:
Here's what you need:
As you can see..anything from around the house
Stamping Set
Washers
Hammer
Twine or Ribbon
Sharpie
Baby Wipe/Sani Wipe
7 Items $7!
I LOVE the Dollar Store
Stamping Set
2 sizes $4/$7 at Harbor Freigh
I found that I like the smaller size better.
This set was $10 at Menard's
I liked it better and the organizer it comes with!
$1 for a bag of washers
Can be found at any hardware store.
I had to do a few practice tries to find my right technique. You need a hard surface. I used a steel plate thing from my hubby's shop and a garden glove for a good grip.
Fill in the groves with a sharpie
Then wipe clean.
Use twine, ribbon or cord to wrap your new and old items.
Just use your imagination and have FUN!

Thanks for sharing how to do this. I always wondered and it's nice to know that it is actually pretty affordable!
oh i just clicked on this post! thats the stamp set I have also from Harbor Freight! Thanks for the great info I'll be back for more!
The lightbulb went on when I saw the washers. I wanted to do this but metal stamping blanks are not cheap. I found a complete, letters and numbers at overstock.com for $16. When It comes in, I am heading to the hardware store and see what they've got. I love this idea!
I can't seem to get away from your blog. You're one talented lady!! So glad I found you.
I love this idea....I NEED YOUR HELP!!! I saw what you did and ran to the hardware store and bought the stamp kit....but I can't get it to mark the metal....what am I doing wrong? I hammer the stamp letter on the washer but it isn't showing up....just scratches it alittle....any ideas...suggestions...please I love this and want to do it too!!!!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
:) Linda
I had the same problem as Linda. I love this idea and I was so disappointed. Any suggestions? Maybe I'll try washers from a different store.
Sorry I couldn't reply to your comment via email...so I hope you come back and check the comments...
I bought an anvil because you do need a really hard surface to hit on and sometimes the smaller washers are easier to stamp than the larger ones....I do feel that the Home Depot set is better than the Harbor Freight set...and you will have to have no fear and hit very hard...
I also have since bought an expensive set ($165) from beaucation.com and the stamps sink like butter into anything...
