Decoupage Piano with Sheet Music

051
I found this piano on freecycle.org for FREE.
I was planning on painting it until I seen some awesome sheet music while browsing The Graphic Fairy's site.
 066
Kinda boring…..
I spiced it up with the free downloadable sheet music.
020
I used:
  • 50 sheets of  vintage sheet music
  • sponge brush
  • scraper
  • scissors
  • and a mixture of half glue and half water
  • Mod Podge
024027
021022
I printed out the  music….
{this was a lot easier than dragging a toddler from thrift store to thrift store
in the hopes of finding of sheet music}
I used the fancy  decorative craft scissors to cut an edge
on the sheet music.
I then applied a thin layer of the glue/water mixture than pasted the sheet music. I used a flour separator to smooth out any air bubbles.
028
I pasted each sheet at different angles…..
030
I left some of the wood peeking through…
033
and here’s just the bottom done….
048
and here is the top done…..
After the piano was covered in all the places I wanted….
I applied 2 thin coats of Matte coat Mod Podge to seal it.
057
and there she is all DONE!
This project took about 4 hours.
059
Not bad for a completely FREE project!
{ Make sure you stop back by because I have since PAINTED the wood!}
Check out all the places I party!

Awesome piano! Let's see, so far I have mod podged (a new verb) a book case, coffee table, christmas balls and wooden frames. Now, maybe a piano would be nice?... hummmm....
