Thrift Store Find Repurposed!

It's my dream to one day repurpose furniture like the Fabulous
Miss Mustard Seed

So I've been buying a few practice pieces...
I got this beauty at the Salvation Army for $25!
Of coarse I think I got a Bargain...while the hubby thinks I overpaid! LOL

I did plan on using it inside my house but then thought it would be perfect on my porch until I can afford some nice rockers.
 I used all leftover paint....
A walnut stain I used on my Dining Room table, some Wal-Mart Opps paint called Mist and some white.
I brushed stain on and wiped off with a rag....
While the top dried I painted the bottom with the Mist....
I wanted the top a little darker so I gave it a quick wipe down with a sanding block and painted another coat of stain
I painted the drawer white...and here she is before the distressing...
I decided to use these hooks I found in the hubby's garage and spray painted then with metal primer..one for clean metal then topped it with the one for rust..
Cute....BUT I decided it needed to be distressed...
I lightly distressed with the same sanding block I used between staining.
Then I used a rag and rubbed stain in the areas I sanded then wiped it off...
And there you have a cute little porch table for $25!:-)

I have many pieces to finish and some wonderful Chalk Paint on it's way....so this was great practice until the good stuff gets here:-)
Check out all the places I party!

Very nice-I am totally impressed. Painting furniture is something I want to do, but am very hesitant. I love seeing other peoples painted furniture--it gives me hope that maybe someday I will tackle a furniture project. Anyway, love how yours turned out. Thanks for sharing,
Jeanette

My hubby would probably agree with your hubby but c'mon where are you gonna find a fabulous custom table for your porch that's also a super cool aqua blue? Love how it turned out, you're gonna give Miss Mustard Seed a run for her money! Thanks for sharing on A Crafty Soiree!

You did a great job! I love how you used the stain plus the other two colors AND the painted hooks -- all make this a real 'custom' piece!
