Chalkboard Magnetic Pantry Door

I LOVE chalkboard paint!!
I'm always looking for placing to paint it and I found just the perfect spot on the inside of my pantry door!
I also used some magnetic paint.....
BEFORE
3 coats of magnetic paint with a half of drying time between coats
2 coats of chalkboard paint
I added a border of green from my kitchen wall
Perfect!
The bottom half is just perfect for my son
This keeps the little one busy while I clean up the kitchen:-)
After!!

You will love this! I've had a chalkboard painted on my pantry door for about 4-5 years now and we use it constantly. My girl was just a toddler when we did it and now she's 9. We use it for homework, lists, etc. We are going to paint her closet doors with chalkboard paint pretty soon. I was thinking about adding the magnetic paint when we did her closet doors and I like how yours looks. Thanks!

Looks great, I saw this in a magazine last year and filed it away in my mind. I'm in the process of doing a craft closet and thought a chalk board on the inside would be great. The magnic paint is a new spin to me...I like it. I'm visiting you by way of Met Monday, come visit me sometime.

Black board paint and magnetic paint are two of my favourite decorating materials. I didn't have a lot of luck with the magnetic paint at first but once I figured out that it has to be well shaken (ie at the paint store and used immediately after you get home) and use a few coats ... it's amazing. Love the door idea in the pantry ... I like that it is out of sight!

Michell-
Love the pantry doors! Using the magnetic paint was a brilliant idea. The colored border sets it off beautifully and the painted interior of the pantry looks great! (I just painted mine also. I'm visiting from Hope Studios Tutorial Tuesday! Thanks for sharing!-

This is really cute and the kids must love it! Great way to let them play but it's also completely hidden!

I've considered doing this...maybe if I finally get any grandkids. This is adorable for your son to be able to play while you are in the kitchen.

That looks awesome. I found you on the Chalk Talk link party. I tried the magnetic paint (and followed directions closely b/c I was told you really have to) and it still has very little magnetism. The guy told me I really need to buy some specific kind of magnets. But it looks like your magnets are doing great! I love the combo.
I would also love for you to link this up to my Organizing Mission link party! My readers are loving the chalkboard items. I'm not on blogger, so you can find my link party at Organize with Sandy.com/blog and go to Organizing Mission Monday link party Week 18. (sorry.. I hate leaving links)
Thanks!
