How to make a Unique Rug

Can you believe I made this AWESOME rug for less than $10!!
Actually I made 2 for less than $10!!

Why would I pay $89 for the 3x5 Pottery Barn Dino Rug??

I would like to share with you how to make an inexpensive cool rug!
I found the best deal ever at Menard's this weekend!!
Free $5 rug after rebate!!
Limit 2.
Well the salesman told me limit 10 so that's what I bought!
And lucky for me they honored the misinfo:-)

it was made from an old rug.

Well I wanted to make another one for a friend
and a rug for my dino themed half bath.
So I'm thankful I found the rug deal of the century (10 FREE rugs)
while looking for more rugs!

All you need is 2 rugs, scissors and some carpet tape ($8).
Trace your image
This could be an Airplane, Flower even the word LOVE in big cursive letters.
Use your imagination!
This bath mat was thin enough for me to cut with scissors.
I avoided the edges so not to mess up the seams
and just cut out the center.
Now do the same with the second rug
Now turn over and tape the pieces together with some carpet tape
I got double sided carpet tape so I pulled off the
other side and applied some anti-skid stuff.

I just LOVE them both!!

Check out all the places I party!

That is a really creative idea. I never would have thought of doing that. It's like two of the price of one ... well kind of.

Just stopping by from homepodge. That rug is so cute - brilliant idea!! I'd love to try this in my bathroom, but my current rug usually gets soaking wet every morning. Do you know if the carpet tape will stay stuck if the rug gets wet?

That is an absolutely darling idea and I just knew after seeing last week's dino wall art that we hadn't seen the last of them! This is so creative and clever and it truly does look like something that would cost big buck. Thank you so much for linking this up to Inspiration Friday this week!

Thanks for linking up to New Nostalgia's Anti-Procrastination Tuesday!
Hope to see you again!!

My mom actually had a business when we were growing up making these, but that was in the early eighties and she would frame them and hang them on the walls! They sold like crazy...:)

That was creative, Michell! You actually did great. There are many innovative ideas out there, and yours could be one of them. Housewives and even teens can do that. Animal designs are the most commonly used on carpets. But it would also be fun if they would try something new like stars or trees! Auh~ They will be thankful of this post.

You are such a creative mind. This is a good way to personalize things around your home. You also put some tapes under your rug. It’s pretty clear that you are very aware of safety. Nice job. This is a simple project anyone can do, but it does take an eye for detail to do it as well as you did it.
