Flags, Flags and More Flags!

Flags
With the 4th of July just next month…
I thought it was appropriate to share some flag projects!
Flags1
Each one of these projects are easy and something anyone can do…..
Here’s HOW:
Flags2
I took an old fence, some red, white and blue paint, a Hobby Lobby star stencil and painted a flag….SIMPLE right?!
Flags3
I took an old window and painted the back using paint and my star stencil. I used both house paint and craft paint that I had on hand. I added a touch of brown to my white because I wanted a more distressed look on my old window. I started with the white, wait for it all to dry then paint blue over the white stars in one thick stroke. Do another coat when it drys if desired. Then paint the red stripes.
Flags4
I used a piece of 2x4 scrap wood and cut two 8” pieces and four 4” pieces. Home Depot will make your cuts for you
if you have your measurements.
{Check out their 51 cent scrap bin!}
After I made my cuts I slightly sanded the cut edges. Then painted two small blocks blue then one small and larger block white and red each.
I again used my trusty stencil and sponged a white star. After it was all dry I sanded a few areas and wiped on a coat of stain and poly in one.
Then wrapped in a burlap bowSmile
Flags5
For a FUN festive flag shirt you will need some sandpaper,
crayons and an iron.
It doesn’t matter what kind of crayons or sandpaper….
I used different grits and cheap crayons and it all worked great.
Draw your image on a piece of sandpaper……remember to reverse the image if you want it facing the right way.
Any where you don't use the crayon the color of the shirt will show thru....
Set iron to a cotton setting and iron the sandpaper on to shirt. Takes less than a minute….Peel off. I was able to use the same sandpaper a few times.
VERY IMPORTANT to set the color
or you will have a mess….I placed a few paper towels over my image and ironed off the excess wax then put in the dryer for 20 minutes.

I am offended and not happy with the flag door mat. Wiping your feet on the American Flag. Shame on you. I love all the others but that one.

Mim in Florida beat me to it. How dare you use the American Flag - even a replica - to wipe your feet on! We have enough trouble with people not respecting our flag without something as offensive as this!

I wanted too add to- our country is more than a flag, it's about our rights and freedom. If someone wants to do an arts and crafts that's an expression of them- go for it!
