My little Fireman!

We have a few fires raging here in Wyoming.
It also saddens my heart to see photos of
Colorado.
The place I called home for 10 years.

THANK YOU FIREMEN for fighting our fires!

Recently our town held a DOWNDOWN THROWDOWN
for area Fire Fighters .
They competed in a fun obstacle coarse challenge
that is super fun to watch.

BEST part is they set up an obstacle coarse for the kiddos too!!

If you're unaware my 2 year has his own FIRE STATION
in the backyard!

So this fun event was right up his alley!
Here are some photos from the FUN Day!

My son getting suited up for his very own challenge.

CUTEST Fireman EVER!
006
Waiting his turn……
008
AND he's off……

Rains to the RESCUE  !!
This video of the event cracks me UP!
The look I get when I straighten his helmet...
Like "MOM! I'm a fireman! Geez!"......and he was a little unsure about the 'boy' laying on the ground....

                             What a great experience!

What a FUN daY!

What every Fire Station needs..........

EVERY Fire Station needs a fireman and a fire bell!
Did you see my FIRE STATION post a few weeks ago?
 The Before and After even got a very nice feature over on
Apartment Therapy
Well I purchased the
Bell
Fire Bell with Red Lanyard - 4.5 pounds
and
Fire Suit!
Aeromax Jr. Fire Fighter Suit with Helmet, Size 4/6 - Tan

Aren’t they adorable!!
The station is almost complete!

I also made a sign and added it to the bridge.
003
Here is what I used:
  • An old cedar fence picket ~{$1 at Home Depot}
  • cardboard letters~{ Hobby Lobby}
  • craft paint
  • silhouette cut outs.
{I used the same technique as my Farm Fresh Eggs sign.}
photo 1(3)
First I laid everything out for proper spacing and to make sure I didn’t need to cut the picket
006
I gave the picket a coat of white paint.
010
After the paint was dry, I traced all the letters and cut outs.
016
Then I took a small brush and filled in with paint!
021
For my ‘fire’ I gave it 3 colors…
022
All traced and painted….took me less than an hour.
024
I purchased the fire emblem & flame in the Silhouette online store {99cents each}
Then typed the words FIRE DEPT. in the emblem and
cut it out on card stock.
Then on each end I used it as a stencil.
025
With a foam sponge I dabbed some white paint
027
and there you have it…….
