Making a House a HOME with Color

I LOVE color!!! I have lots of color in my home, Green, Red, Orange, Blue, Yellow,  and Purple just to name a few. I was a little worried that it looked like a Clown throw up in my house but ALL my guests simply love it. I will post room by room pictures soon. In the meantime, check out my son's room HERE

Today I'm posting my Sister-in-Law's house. After a few years of living with white walls she decided to surprise her husband with a little color. We had so much fun painting and getting to know each other better.

This is what we did over the weekend and here are the Before and After pictures:

She painted 3 sample shades on each wall and lived with it for a few days before she decided on the perfect color.
I think she made the right decision!!!
What a difference!! It has a very 'homey' feel.
She replaced 3 CAN lights with Pendulum lights.
This is so Elegant!
She also changed out all the white switches and plugs with brown ones for less than a $1 each.
I painted Wall Quotes on my son's room, but we just couldn't beat this price or labor for only $16 at Target.
There are also a lot more to choose from on Amazon for even cheaper.
Let's have a dinner party!!
BORING....
WELCOMING
This picture doesn't do this color justice....it is stunning
We spray painted the mirror frame to match the table.
Then she painted the family name above the mirror. I talk about this step in 'Painting the Baby Room' post. Basically just project your image on the wall, trace and paint. EASY!!

Now a wonderful warm place to visit with family.
Ahh!!! What a little paint can do....

I love color, especially for every room. My last house was a pale yellow and it was warm and cozy. It made the house feel more like a home. The basement was a cocoa color which went well with my artwork.
