Map Coasters

I LOVE maps!!
I have a map painted in my entry!
I also use maps to wrap gifts and decoupage old frames.....
and here's another use for old maps....Coasters!
I used this technique years ago with photos of my kids and their art work.
This is so fun and easy!!

Here is what you need:
Map, Coasters, Scissors and Glue or Mod Podge.
This is so simple....
I used 4 coasters...actually they are plant mats that I wasn't using and were sitting in my junk drawer.
I always pick up old maps at the thrift store to use as gift wrapping...
I got a box full for $2!
Trace a circle on your map and cut out with scissors or a craft knife.
Put a thin layer of Mod Podge on back of map circle. Smooth out any air bubbles. Then paint a few layers of Mod Podge over top...this provides a hard coating...I used glossy Mod Podge...but Matte would work well too.
Aren't they Pretty!!

Enjoy!!
Check out all the places I party!

Wow, I love it! My little one who gets into everything likes to 'play' with our glass coasters, so it is time for something more durable. And we travel a ton, so this is perfect!

I am loving this! My husband and I love to travel (before kids), and it would be fun to make some of these for Father's Day (from maps of places we have visited in the past).
I shared this post on my Friday Favorites today. Feel free to get a Featured Button if you would like.
