Look what I made!!
I'm madly in LOVE with this!!
I MUST show you how to make one too.
I think these would make perfect Christmas, Baby Shower, Birthday or HouseWarming Gifts!
I enjoy sharing the things I make so YOU too can make an inexpensive gift or maybe some income in your corner of the world.
I rent space in a shop in my local downtown that I keep stocked with items I make...(More on that later)
With that said on to the tutorial........
I knew I wanted to make ALOT of these for gifts AND to stock my shop........
so I went to Ebay and bought:
50 Brand New White Lotion/Soap Pumps with Locking Tops
Pump Dispenser for Lotions And Soaps Completes Your Handcrafted Container Or Jar, White (Pkg/15)and some Zinc wide and regular mouth lids....
and from Wal-Mart White Plastic Storage Lids
I bought different sizes and styles of mason jars.....
Quart wide mouth and regular mouth pint, jelly pint and half pint.
I can't wait to hit some garage sales and find some of those blue and green mason jars.
You can also reuse a pump from something in your home
You will need to measure the top of your pump.
This lets you know what size bit to use in the drill for a perfect fit.
These pumps have a wider base and took a 7/16th bit
Now the FUN part.......
raid the hubby's tool box and find a cordless drill
Note: You can measure and mark your center.
This was the best way I found to drill a hole..........
I placed the lid on the driveway between my feet...
the zinc lids had a porcelain center that will break out....
Easy!
Perfect Fit!
Next you need to glue your pump in place......
I used clear Kitchen&Bath Adhesive Caulk from Wal-Mart
But I think any kind of Epoxy, Adhesive or Glue would work.
Glue in place.....
This is the quart jar with a wide mouth lid
With the white plastic lid
For a little added EXTRA you could wrap in twine or ribbon
with a hand stamped washer......
See one of my stamping tutorials HERE
Fill with your favorite soap, oils, lotions, or shampoo....
What a PERFECT gift:-)
